Raffaela has an education in communications. After working several years as a general manager at a design agency, she now works as a head of brand strategy & PR for Dutch Design Foundation (DDF). In this role she is part of the Management Team and responsible for the communications, brand development and PR strategy of a diverse number of projects, amongst others Dutch Design Week, that are being initiated by DDF.
Together with her team she is a.o. responsible for the (inter) national press strategy during Dutch Design Week (which grew from 50 to 750 accreditations in 5 years). As a natural connector she plays an important role in realising and maintaining strategic partnerships with Vlisco, Philips Lighting, ELLE Decoration, VPRO, FRAME, Volkskrant, NBTC and Dezeen. DDW is one of the top 3 design events worldwide.
This background has given her great understanding and insight on mediating between design, media and business, as well as experience with implementing new (design) strategies.
